A five-run explosion in the first inning carried the Qu��bec (3-0) to a 7-0 win in seven innings over the Manitoba at SrM Ironmen Field on Saturday.

The Qu��bec scored in the first on a two-run double by Michael Zgorzelski, an RBI single by Jean Philippe Pouliot Lapointe, and a two-run single by Leonardo Jose Ochoa.

Jonathan Lussier reached base three times in the game for the Qu��bec. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He singled in the second inning and homered in the seventh inning.

The Qu��bec got the win thanks in large part to Maxime Lanthier's dominant, three-strikeout performance. The Qu��bec's pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only four hits.

Chad Leskiw was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
