The Weyburn Beavers (31-17) shut the door early on the Melville Millionaires (18-29), capturing an 11-2 victory on Friday at Pirie Field.
The game was decided quickly as the Weyburn Beavers exerted their will early with nine runs in the first three innings.
An RBI triple by Reed Lavallee and an RBI single by Jordan Anderson during the first inning and an RBI single by Dan Moro, an RBI single by Moro, and an RBI single by Wylie Johnston in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Weyburn Beavers.Lavallee racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Weyburn Beavers.
Brodie Stairs pitched lights out for the Weyburn Beavers. The Melville Millionaires managed just three hits off of Stairs, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his four innings of work.
Garrett Scudder pitched lights out for the Melville Millionaires. Scudder held the Weyburn Beavers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none.
Caleb Dean (2-1) took the loss for the Melville Millionaires. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
