The Yorkton Cardinals (20-27) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 3-2 to the Regina Red Sox (22-24) on Thursday.

While the Yorkton Cardinals led until the eighth inning, the Regina Red Sox worked their way back and took the lead on an error.

It was a good day at the plate for the Regina Red Sox's Jordan Schulz. Schulz went 4-6 and scored two runs. He doubled in the eighth innings and singled in the first, third, and eleventh innings.

Jesse Pratt allowed one earned run, three hits and two walks while striking out three over seven innings of work.

Mike Thill improved to 3-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Regina Red Sox. He struck out four, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Derek Marshall (0-1) took the loss for the Yorkton Cardinals. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed one run.
