Three first-inning runs helped the Regina Red Sox (20-23) to a 7-4 win over the Melville Millionaires (18-25) at Currie Field on Saturday.

The Regina Red Sox scored in the first on an RBI double by Brandon Vaughn and a two-run double by Vaughn.

Vaughn racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Regina Red Sox.

Parks Smithey got the win, running his season record to 4-3. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out two, walked seven and surrendered four hits.

Jimmy Russo ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
