Reed Lavallee went 2-3, sparking the Weyburn Beavers (27-16) to a 5-2 victory over the Lethbridge Bulls (31-12) on Friday at Tom Laing Park.
He singled in the second and fourth innings.Ryan Johnson's six strikeouts were enough to push the Weyburn Beavers past the Lethbridge Bulls. Johnson allowed one earned run on four hits and three walks over six innings.
The Lethbridge Bulls were led by Bretton Gouthro's hitting. Gouthro went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the seventh and ninth innings.
Jake Hansen put together a nice outing. The Weyburn Beavers managed just one hit off of the the Lethbridge Bulls' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his two innings of work.
Luc Hebert (5-2) took the loss for the Lethbridge Bulls. He lasted just three innings, walked four, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
