Both the Edmonton Prospects (19-23) and the Weyburn Beavers (26-15) put runners aboard on Wednesday, but it was the Edmonton Prospects that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 7-6 win at Tom Laing Park.
Alex Bishop was hot from the plate for the Edmonton Prospects. Bishop went 4-5 and scored one run. He singled in the first, fourth, fifth, and seventh innings.
The Weyburn Beavers couldn't get anything going so long as Noah Gapp was on the hill. The Weyburn Beavers managed just one hit off of Gapp, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.
Wylie Johnston reached base four times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the first, third, and seventh innings.
Greg Leban improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Edmonton Prospects. Leban struck out one, walked one and gave up three hits.
Daniel Agramont was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
