A walk-off single from Ryan Grotjohn brought home the winning run for the Melville Millionaires (17-23) in a 3-2 victory over the Medicine Hat Mavericks (21-20) in 14 innings at Pirie Field on Wednesday.
Grotjohn got on base two times in the game for the Melville Millionaires. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the fourteenth inning.
Caleb Dean did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Melville Millionaires, reaching base three times. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the fourteenth inning.
Garrett Scudder improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Melville Millionaires. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered two hits.
Bryce Feia (3-3) took the loss for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
