Chase Goldwater was cold coming off the bench, but Goldwater warmed up quickly as Goldwater stroked a key pinch-hit single in the one to lead the Melville Millionaires (16-23) to a 10-5 win over the Medicine Hat Mavericks (21-19) on Tuesday at Pirie Field.

With the Melville Millionaires trailing by one, Goldwater came to the plate and singled.

Goldwater got on base three times in the game for the Melville Millionaires. He scored one run and had one RBI.

The Melville Millionaires' Goldwater showed his talents on both sides of the diamond with a strong game on the mound and at the plate.

Goldwater brought the heat against the Medicine Hat Mavericks during his outing. Goldwater held the Medicine Hat Mavericks hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks were led by a flawless day at the dish by Ryan Helgren, who went 3-3 against the Melville Millionaires' pitching. He singled in the second, fourth, and sixth innings.

Curtis Johnson recorded his second win for the Melville Millionaires even though he allowed five runs over six innings. Johnson struck out six, walked two and gave up eight hits.

Bryce Feia (3-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
