An ace performance by J.J. Santa-Cruz hoisted the Moose Jaw Miller Express (16-24) to a 7-2 win over the Okotoks Dawgs (23-15) on Sunday at Ross Wells Park.

Santa-Cruz kept contact to a minimum, striking out 11 the Okotoks Dawgs batters. Santa-Cruz allowed one earned run on six hits and one walk over eight innings.

A bright spot for the Okotoks Dawgs in the defeat was Holden Lyons, who allowed only one run while striking out six.

Tyrell King (2-1) took the loss for the Okotoks Dawgs. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked three and struck out four.
