Kemp helps the Medicine Hat Mavericks down the Regina Red Sox 3-2

The Medicine Hat Mavericks (14-11) beat the Regina Red Sox (12-13) 3-2 on Wednesday at Athletic Park behind Ryan Kemp, who went 2-4.

He singled in the first inning.

The Regina Red Sox had no answer for Dakota Parsons, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Parsons held the Regina Red Sox hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Talon Kunkel recorded his third win of the year for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He allowed one run over two-thirds of an inning. He struck out none, walked two and surrendered one hit.

Parks Smithey (1-2) took the loss for the Regina Red Sox. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
