The Weyburn Beavers (12-3) beat the Regina Red Sox (9-8) 4-2 on Friday at Tom Laing Park behind Brenden Meade, who went 2-5.
He doubled in the first inning and singled in the second innings.The Weyburn Beavers relied on Chris Erker to eat up innings en route to the win. Erker allowed two earned runs, eight hits and one walk while striking out six over 7 2/3 innings of work.
Tyler Shumpert (4-1) took the loss for the Regina Red Sox. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out 10, and allowed four runs.
