It took 10 innings, but the Weyburn Beavers (9-2) managed to put away the Medicine Hat Mavericks (5-6) 3-2 on Saturday at Tom Laing Park.
With the score tied at two in the tenth inning, Anthony Balderama came to the plate and singled, scoring Dan Moro.
Moro paced the Weyburn Beavers at the plate. Moro went 3-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the third, fifth, and tenth innings.
Gabe Lares paced the Medicine Hat Mavericks at the plate. Lares went 4-5. He singled in the third, fifth, and seventh innings and tripled in the ninth inning.
Wade Mason improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Weyburn Beavers. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Dylan Bell couldn't get it done on the bump for the Medicine Hat Mavericks, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
