The Edmonton Prospects (5-3) didn't stand a chance on Thursday, as the Medicine Hat Mavericks (5-5) captured a blowout 14-6 win at Athletic Park.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks scored four runs in the fifth on the Medicine Hat Mavericks scored in the fifth on a two-run single by Gabe Lares, an error, a sacrifice fly by Blake Rowlett, and a solo home run by Aaron Green.

Cory Scammell racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Edmonton Prospects. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Jeremy Barnes (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out two.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks easily handled the Edmonton Prospects pitching as six hitters combined for 11 hits, 11 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
