An exceptional effort by Scott Beever carried the Weyburn Beavers (7-1) to a 2-1 win over the Melville Millionaires (1-7) on Wednesday at Tom Laing Park.

Beever struck out 11, paving the way for a the Weyburn Beavers win. Beever allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks over nine innings.

It was a good day at the plate for the Weyburn Beavers' Dan Moro. Moro went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the first, second, and seventh innings.

A bright spot for the Melville Millionaires in the defeat was Ben Schweinfurth, who allowed only two runs while striking out six.

Schweinfurth (0-2) took the loss for the Melville Millionaires.
