Marcus Blackmon Jr collected three hits, sparking the Weyburn Beavers (3-1) to an 8-3 victory over the Swift Current Indians (1-2) on Sunday at Mitchell Field.

He singled in the second and third innings and doubled in the fifth inning.

Ryan Johnson pitched lights out for the Weyburn Beavers. The Swift Current Indians managed just four hits off of Johnson, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two during his five innings of work.

Tyler Enns had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the first inning, tripled in the seventh inning, and doubled in the ninth inning.

Colby DeVries was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked three and struck out five.
