The Regina Red Sox (1-0) blew out the Weyburn Beavers (1-1) 9-1 on Friday at Currie Field after pouring on seven runs in the first inning.

The Regina Red Sox scored in the first on a passed ball, a three-run double by Tanner Stokey, an RBI single by Geoff Seto, an error, and an RBI double by Zach Weatherford.

Seto racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Regina Red Sox.

Tyler Shumpert picked up the win for the Regina Red Sox. Shumpert allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out four over six innings of work.

Larry Molina (0-1) took the loss for the Weyburn Beavers. He allowed six runs in one-third of an inning, walked three and struck out one.
