A four-run eighth inning sealed a 10-3 win for the Worcester Bravehearts (24-30) over the Torrington Titans (23-27) on Friday at Fitton Field.

The Worcester Bravehearts scored in the eighth on a groundout by Joe Caico, a triple by Derek Gibree, a triple by Gibree, , and a single by Alex Sanchez.

Ian Strom put himself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for the Worcester Bravehearts. He tripled in the second inning, singled in the seventh inning, and doubled in the fifth and eighth innings.

Jacob Stevens baffled the Torrington Titans, striking out eight batters. The Worcester Bravehearts' pitcher gave up just four hits over five shutout innings.

A bright spot for the Torrington Titans in the defeat was David Gerics, who allowed only three runs while striking out six.

Miles Sheehan improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Worcester Bravehearts. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Evan DeVico couldn't get it done on the hill for the Torrington Titans, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.

The Worcester Bravehearts were sparked by Gavin Tristan and Strom, who teamed up for five hits and three RBIs.
