Thursday was a great day for Davis Strong, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Bristol Blues (14-9) to a 3-2 victory over the Seacoast Mavericks (7-14) at Leary Field.
The Seacoast Mavericks were ahead early but they ultimately surrendered the lead for good. The Seacoast Mavericks were up until the eighth inning, but the Bristol Blues had other plans for the final outcome, taking the lead back on an error.
Kyle Dube picked up the win for the Bristol Blues. Dube pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, five hits and three walks while striking out four.
A bright spot for the Seacoast Mavericks in the defeat was Austin French, who allowed only two runs while striking out seven.
Autrey Gates (0-1) took the loss for the Seacoast Mavericks. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
