The Marthas Vineyard Sharks need walk-off single to beat the Seacoast Mavericks, 11-10

Story by Narrative Science.

A walk-off single from Brian Campbell brought home the winning run for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (12-6) in an 11-10 victory over the Seacoast Mavericks (7-12) at Vineyard Baseball Park on Saturday.

Campbell led the Marthas Vineyard Sharks' offensive threat, as he got on base five times in the game. He scored three runs and had two RBIs. He singled in the first, sixth, and ninth innings.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 21 total runs and 20 hits during the game. Managers of the two teams seemingly emptied their bullpens in search of the win, as there were nine pitchers used in the game.

Mike Parmentier improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Jake Walkinshaw ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
