Adam Pennington kept the Concord Weavers (7-20) off the board during his 5 2/3 innings of work and the Piedmont Pride (20-5) beat the Concord Weavers, 5-0.

Pennington allowed four hits, no walks and struck out nine.

Chase Sandberg boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace the Piedmont Pride. He singled in the second inning and tripled in the sixth inning.

Seth Boyle ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
