Jeff Thompson had two extra base hits, sparking the Piedmont Pride (18-4) to a 3-2 victory over the SBA Bones (13-7) on Saturday at Winthrop University.
He tripled in the first inning and doubled in the eighth inning.The SBA Bones' lineup had no answer for Zack Kamerman. The SBA Bones managed just one hit off of the the Piedmont Pride's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out six during his four innings of work.
Daniel Stack did his best to jumpstart the offense for the SBA Bones, reaching base four times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the sixth inning.
Bailey Mckee had an impressive outing against the Piedmont Pride's lineup. The Piedmont Pride managed just one hit off of Mckee, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 2 2/3 innings of work.
Ryan Owens was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
