Both the Statesville Owls (6-10) and the SBA Bones (11-5) put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was the Statesville Owls that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 5-4 win.

Riley Smith did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Statesville Owls, reaching base two times. He doubled in the fourth inning.

Jamal Howard racked up two RBIs on one hit for the SBA Bones. He homered in the sixth inning.

Gavin Huffman improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Statesville Owls. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out six, walked one and surrendered six hits.

Stephen Hueber ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
