The Piedmont Pride (14-3) beat the Lake Norman Copperheads (5-12) 5-2 in seven innings on Saturday at Winthrop University behind Thomas Yoder, who went 1-2.

The Lake Norman Copperheads had no answer for Drew Bolick, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Bolick gave up just three hits, allowed two earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his six innings of work.

Zach Featherstone was hot from the plate for the Lake Norman Copperheads. Featherstone went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the seventh inning.

John Creel was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
