Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Friday as the Carolina Vipers (8-7) outscored the Concord Weavers (4-11) 13-9.

The teams totaled 25 hits in the game.

Brett Gemmell was the lone bright spot for the Concord Weavers in the loss.

Gemmell went a perfect 4-4 at the plate for the Concord Weavers. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the third, fifth, and ninth innings.

Gemmell brought the heat against the Carolina Vipers during his outing. Gemmell held the Carolina Vipers hitless over two-thirds of an inning, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out none.

Clay Middleton did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Carolina Vipers, reaching base five times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the second inning.

Danny Dunning recorded his first win of the year for the Carolina Vipers. He struck out one, walked three and surrendered two hits.

Robert Taft (0-1) took the loss for the Concord Weavers. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
