Carolina Vipers vs Piedmont Pride: 5-6

The Piedmont Pride take out the Carolina Vipers with help from Yoder, 6-5

Thomas Yoder went 2-4 and hit a home run, sparking the Piedmont Pride (10-2) to a 6-5 victory over the Carolina Vipers (7-6) on Monday at Winthrop University.

He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Drew Bolick pitched lights out for the Piedmont Pride. The Carolina Vipers managed just two hits off of the the Piedmont Pride's pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out four during his five innings of work.

Paul Trick got on base three times in the game for the Carolina Vipers. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the sixth and eighth innings.

Corey Mason brought the heat against the Piedmont Pride during his outing. Mason held the Piedmont Pride hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Matt Wasche couldn't get it done on the hill for the Carolina Vipers, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out three.
