The Piedmont Pride (5-2) didn't have a chance on Wednesday, as the Lake Norman Copperheads (2-6) won in blowout fashion, 14-7 at Hopewell HS.

The Piedmont Pride had the lead early, but couldn't hold off the Lake Norman Copperheads. The Piedmont Pride were up until the fifth inning, but the Lake Norman Copperheads had other plans for the final outcome, taking the lead back on a two-run single by Nick Daddio.

Daddio had two extra-base hits for the Lake Norman Copperheads.

John Todd had an impressive outing against the Piedmont Pride's lineup. The Piedmont Pride managed just three hits off of the the Lake Norman Copperheads' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Drew Bolick couldn't get it done on the mound for the Piedmont Pride, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked two and struck out four.

The Lake Norman Copperheads pounded the Piedmont Pride pitching, as seven hitters combined for 15 hits, 15 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
