The Wareham Gatemen (12-17) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 2-1 to the Chatham Anglers (17-13) on Wednesday.
The Chatham Anglers took the lead in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Todd Czinege.
Czinege did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Chatham Anglers, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the fourth and seventh innings.
Brandon Miller pitched lights out for the Chatham Anglers. Miller held the Wareham Gatemen hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Tyler Thorne (0-1) took the loss for the Wareham Gatemen. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed one run.
