A magnificent effort by JJ Matijevic lifted the Falmouth Commodores (2-3) to a 3-2 win over the Brewster Whitecaps (3-1) on Saturday at Arnie Allen Diamond.

Matijevic rocked the Brewster Whitecaps with two home runs. Matijevic went 2-3 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Matijevic homered in the fifth and seventh innings.

Austin Tribby brought the heat against the Brewster Whitecaps during his outing. Tribby gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked five and struck out one during his five innings of work.

JD Busfield pitched seven innings and allowed three earned runs, five hits and no walks while striking out three.

Bryce Montes de Oca improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Falmouth Commodores. He allowed two runs over three innings. He struck out six, walked five and surrendered three hits.

Busfield couldn't get it done on the mound for the Brewster Whitecaps, taking a loss.
