Brown helps the Gateway Grizzlies down the Lake Erie Crushers 7-5

Blake Brown had two extra base hits, sparking the Gateway Grizzlies (44-50) to a 7-5 victory over the Lake Erie Crushers (38-56) on Saturday at GCS Ballpark.

He doubled in the second and fourth innings and singled in the eighth inning.

Jordan Wellander pitched lights out for the Gateway Grizzlies. Wellander held the Lake Erie Crushers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Juan Sanchez racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He singled in the second and third innings.

JaVaun West recorded his fourth win of the year for the Gateway Grizzlies. He allowed one run over two innings. West struck out five, walked none and gave up one hit.

Trevor Longfellow couldn't get it done on the mound for the Lake Erie Crushers, taking a loss. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
