The Washington Wild Things (34-46) shut the door early on the Windy City ThunderBolts (33-46), capturing a 12-4 victory on Wednesday at CONSOL Energy Park.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed the Washington Wild Things to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Scott Kalamar, a sacrifice fly by David Popkins, an RBI single by Jimmy Yezzo, a two-run triple by Daniel Poma, and an RBI double by Austin Wobrock in the first inning fueled the Washington Wild Things' offense early.

Yezzo racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Washington Wild Things.

Despite the loss, the Windy City ThunderBolts' Danny Jimenez dominated the Washington Wild Things' batters, giving up zero runs and striking out five.

Luke Wilkins improved to 7-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Washington Wild Things. He allowed four runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out three, walked four and surrendered seven hits.

Zak Wasserman couldn't get it done on the hill for the Windy City ThunderBolts, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in one-third of an inning, walked one and struck out none.
