Jhiomar Veras went 2-3, sparking the Frontier Greys (32-34) to a 2-1 victory in seven innings over the Evansville Otters (44-24) on Wednesday at Bosse Field.
He singled in the second and fourth innings.The Evansville Otters had no answer for Colin Feldtman, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Feldtman held the Evansville Otters hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.
Max Homick improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Frontier Greys. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Trevor Walch ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed two runs.
