An awesome effort by Casey Henn spurred the Florence Freedom (14-21) to an 8-0 win in seven innings over the Washington Wild Things (13-22) on Wednesday at UC Health Stadium.
The biggest inning for the Florence Freedom was the first. In the inning the Florence Freedom scored six runs. The Florence Freedom scored in the first on an RBI double by Daniel Fraga, an RBI single by Collins Cuthrell, a sacrifice fly by Cody Bishop, a two-run double by Travis Weaver, and an RBI single by Sean Mahley.
Henn got the win, running his season record to 2-6. He struck out nine, walked one and surrendered no hits.
Ernesto Zaragoza (3-2) took the loss for the Washington Wild Things. He allowed six runs in two-thirds of an inning, walked three and struck out none.
The Florence Freedom's Cuthrell, Justin Harris and Fraga combined for five hits and four RBIs.
