The Rockford Aviators (6-0) beat the Traverse City Beach Bums (2-4) 2-1 in seven innings on Thursday at Aviator Stadium behind Devon Rodriguez, who went 1-2 and hit a home run.

Kyle Brueggemann's six strikeouts were enough to push the Rockford Aviators past the Traverse City Beach Bums. Brueggemann allowed one earned run, three hits and two walks over six innings.

Bret Dahlson pitched lights out for the Traverse City Beach Bums. Dahlson held the Rockford Aviators hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Luis DeJesus (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
