Aaron Gates had two extra base hits as the Southern Illinois Miners (4-1) took home a 4-3 victory over the River City Rascals (1-4) at Rent One Park, Marion, IL on Wednesday.

Eric Green had an impressive outing against the River City Rascals' lineup. Green held the River City Rascals hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Curran Redal reached base three times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the first and fourth innings.

The Southern Illinois Miners couldn't get anything going as long as Dane Stone was pitching. The Southern Illinois Miners managed just two hits off of Stone, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out two during his four innings of work.
