The Rockford Aviators (2-0) beat the Gateway Grizzlies (0-2) 6-2 on Saturday at GCS Ballpark behind Elijah Trail, who went 1-1 and hit a home run.

Tony Rizzotti handled the Gateway Grizzlies' lineup with ease, racking up three strikeouts. Rizzotti allowed no earned runs on four hits and one walk over five innings.

Rolando Gomez went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Gateway Grizzlies. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Michael Holback improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Rockford Aviators. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered one hit.

David Murillo ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
