Alex Caruso knocked in three runs as the Matsu Miners (2-0) took home an 8-5 victory over the Chugiak Chinooks (0-2) in seven innings at Hermon Brothers Field on Wednesday.

Andrew Mogg racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Chugiak Chinooks. He doubled in the fourth inning.

Trent Thompson improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Matsu Miners. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered no hits.

CJ Lewington ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
