The Matsu Miners make the most of 5 hits in 5-4 victory over the Chugiak Chinooks

Both the Matsu Miners (2-0) and the Chugiak Chinooks (0-2) put runners aboard on Tuesday, but it was the Matsu Miners that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 5-4 win at Loretta French Field.

Chris Hall racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Matsu Miners. He tripled in the fifth inning.

The Chugiak Chinooks had no answer for Byron Hood, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Hood held the Chugiak Chinooks hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two.

The Matsu Miners' lineup had no answer for Michael Fairchild. Fairchild held the Matsu Miners hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

James Harrington improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Matsu Miners. He allowed four runs over six innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered six hits.

Luke Eigsti ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
