Tanner Nishioka drove in three runs, helping the Matsu Miners (34-11) to a 7-4 victory over the Peninsula Oilers (20-26) on Sunday at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.
He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the seventh inning.The Peninsula Oilers couldn't get anything going so long as Byron Hood was on the hill. Hood held the Peninsula Oilers hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.
The Peninsula Oilers were led by Alex Seifert's hitting. Seifert went 2-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the fifth innings and doubled in the seventh inning.
Zebastian Valenzuela got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed four runs over six innings. Valenzuela struck out five, walked one and gave up five hits.
Matt Allen couldn't get it done on the mound for the Peninsula Oilers, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
