A superb effort by Jim Voyles led the Anchorage Bucs (18-18) to a 1-0 win in seven innings over the Peninsula Oilers (15-19) on Tuesday at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.
Voyles held the Peninsula Oilers scoreless during his seven innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on two hits while ringing up five.
Josh Medeles (2-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed one run.
