Tanner Nishioka went 2-4, sparking the Matsu Miners (28-8) to a 7-3 victory over the Alaska Goldpanners (12-23) on Wednesday at Growden Memorial Park.
He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.Caleb McCann had an impressive outing against the Alaska Goldpanners' lineup. The Alaska Goldpanners managed just one hit off of McCann, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his 2 1/3 innings of work.
Renae Martinez had two extra-base hits for the Alaska Goldpanners. He doubled in the first and fourth innings.
Joe Wills ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked one and struck out one.
