An ace performance by Brigham Hill carried the Matsu Miners (31-9) to a 7-2 win over the Anchorage Glacier Pilots (24-19) on Monday at Hermon Brothers Field.
Hill got the win for the Matsu Miners thanks to 11 strikeouts. The Matsu Miners' pitcher tossed seven innings of shutout ball and allowed only two hits.
Alex Caruso led the Matsu Miners' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the eighth inning.
Matt Dennis (2-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked one and struck out four.
