The Anchorage Glacier Pilots sixth-inning burst enough to top the Chugiak Chinooks, 13-2

A seven-run explosion in the sixth inning led the Anchorage Glacier Pilots (7-9) to a 13-2 win over the Chugiak Chinooks (9-8) at Loretta French Field on Saturday.

The Anchorage Glacier Pilots scored in the sixth on an error, an error, an RBI single by Luke Hamblin, an RBI double by Kevin Viers, a groundout by Gunnar Troutwine, and a two-run error.

Viers racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots.

Brett Brown brought the heat against the Chugiak Chinooks during his outing. The Chugiak Chinooks managed just one hit off of the the Anchorage Glacier Pilots' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three during his three innings of work.

Patrick Schnieders got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered three hits.

Michael Fairchild couldn't get it done on the mound for the Chugiak Chinooks, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
