Vance Vizcaino went 3-3 at the plate, helping the Matsu Miners (8-2) to a 5-1 victory over the Anchorage Glacier Pilots (3-5) on Friday at Mulcahy Field.

Kyle Simonds's six strikeouts helped the Matsu Miners to the victory. Simonds allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks over six innings.

A bright spot for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots in the defeat was Will Hibbs, who allowed only zero runs while striking out five.

It was a good day at the plate for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots' Luke Hamblin. Hamblin went 2-3 and scored one run. He singled in the fourth inning and tripled in the sixth inning.

Matt McGarry ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
