The Southern Illinois Miners (1-2) didn't stand a chance on Wednesday, as the Schaumburg Boomers (6-2) captured a blowout 14-4 win at Rent One Park.

Chris Burke had two extra-base hits for the Southern Illinois Miners. He doubled in the second and eighth innings.

Anthony Montefusco was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked none and struck out three.

The Schaumburg Boomers hammered the Southern Illinois Miners pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 13 hits, eight RBIs and 12 runs scored.
