The River City Rascals (1-0) needed 12 innings on Monday to take down the Washington Wild Things (1-1) 2-1 at CONSOL Energy Park.

With the score tied at one in the twelfth inning, Saxon Butler came to the plate and homered.

Butler paced the River City Rascals at the plate. Butler went 2-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the eighth inning and homered in the twelfth inning.

The Washington Wild Things couldn't get anything going so long as Tommy Mendoza was on the hill. The Washington Wild Things managed just two hits off of Mendoza, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his five innings of work.

Troy Marks held the River City Rascals scoreless for seven innings. Marks struck out four and allowed two walks and four hits.

Trey Lambert improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the River City Rascals. Lambert struck out two, walked two and gave up two hits.

Zach LeBarron (0-1) took the loss for the Washington Wild Things. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
