An outstanding effort by Josh Janzen lifted the Moose Jaw Miller Express (1-2) to a 6-1 win over the Medicine Hat Mavericks (2-1) on Sunday at Ross Wells Park.

Janzen kept the Medicine Hat Mavericks off the board during his eight innings of work. Janzen struck out two and allowed two walks and two hits.

Andrew Solomon paced the Moose Jaw Miller Express at the plate. Solomon went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third inning and homered in the eighth inning.

Sheldon Daquioag paced the Medicine Hat Mavericks at the plate. Daquioag went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the ninth inning.

Jon Rand (0-1) took the loss for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He allowed six runs in eight innings, walked one and struck out two.
