A six-run explosion in the eighth inning lifted the Pompano Beach Clippers (13-8) to a 10-3 win over the Coral Springs Canes at Mullins Park on Sunday.
The Pompano Beach Clippers scored in the eighth on a two-run double by Nolan Lodden, a sacrifice fly by Nick Mira, an RBI single by Brandon Joyce, a single by Casey Gibson, , and a single by Scott Matthews.
Lodden went a perfect 5-5 at the plate for the Pompano Beach Clippers.
Nolan Mullen struck out 10, paving the way for a the Pompano Beach Clippers win. Mullen allowed one earned run, two hits and two walks over six innings.
Mark Ramcharitar (0-3) took the loss for the Coral Springs Canes (4-15). He lasted just seven innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
