The Nova Scotia (1-1) took down the Saskatchewan (0-1) 16-0 on Thursday at Stade Arvida after slamming the Saskatchewan with 11 runs in the second inning.

The Nova Scotia scored in the second on an error, an RBI double by Raelea Nickerson, an RBI single by Jenna Jackson, an RBI single by Jackson, a two-run double by Rachel Boone, a groundout by Cady Miles, an RBI double by Mackenzie Dimmell, an error, a three-run single by Brooke Mingo, and a three-run single by Mingo.

Maria Roy got a hit in each of his three at bats. He tripled in the first inning and singled in the second inning.

The Saskatchewan had no answer for Nickerson, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Nickerson held the Saskatchewan hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out three.

Hannah Shea recorded his first win of the year for the Nova Scotia. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered two hits.

Kelsey Sonntag (0-1) took the loss for the Saskatchewan. He allowed 12 runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.

The Nova Scotia pounded the Saskatchewan pitching, as six hitters combined for 12 hits, 10 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
