A magnificent effort by Zachary Westcott spurred the Pompano Beach Clippers (9-6) to a 6-1 win over the Palm Beach Xtreme (8-15) on Tuesday at Spanish River High School.
Westcott racked up 15 strikeouts in the the Pompano Beach Clippers win. Westcott allowed one earned run on six hits and one walk over eight innings.
The Pompano Beach Clippers were led by Ryan Flick's hitting. Flick went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the ninth inning.
Zach Crosno pitched lights out for the Palm Beach Xtreme. Crosno held the Pompano Beach Clippers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.
Derek Jacobs (0-1) took the loss for the Palm Beach Xtreme. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed two runs.
