The Lake Norman Copperheads (8-6) and the Carolina Vipers (4-9) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Lake Norman Copperheads that eventually took advantage of them in a 3-2 win at Vipers vs. Copperheads.

Michael Strem pitched lights out for the Lake Norman Copperheads. Strem gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his three innings of work.

John Elwood went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Carolina Vipers. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Taylor Cox got the win, running his season record to 1-1. Cox struck out two, walked two and gave up no hits.

Danny Dunning couldn't get it done on the hill for the Carolina Vipers, taking a loss. He lasted just three innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
